Michael Vacca, 87, of Springfield, Virginia and formerly of North Providence, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010. He was the husband of Antoinette (Labonte) Vacca. Born in Stillwater, he was the son of the late Domenico and Angela (Donia) Vacca.
He was an army veteran of World War II and had lived in North Providence before moving to Virginia in 1973. Mr. Vacca was an accountant for the federal government for 42 years, retiring in 1983.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Marilyn Vacca, Joan Blair and her husband Gary, Janet Vacca-LeBoeuf, and Michael Vacca and his wife Julia; three grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was the grandfather of the late Joseph Vacca.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 9:45am from the HOEY-ARPIN-WILLIAMS-KING Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or Selesian’s Missions, would be appreciated.
