Maria L. Sousa, 85 of Humboldt Avenue , passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Memorial Hospital . She was the wife of the late Jose G. Sousa. Born in Faial , Portugal she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Palmira (Botelho) DasNeves. Mrs. Sousa worked at American Insulated Wire in Pawtucket for many years before retiring. She is survived by her daughter, Thelma Candeias of Pawtucket ; a son Joe Sousa of Florida ; two granddaughters, Jessica and Sarah Candeias both of Pawtucket and a brother Antonio Neves of Portugal . She was also the sister of the late Manuel, Gabriel, Jose, and Jaime Neves. Maria was a kind, hardworking woman, loving mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed by her loving family each and every day. The funeral will be held Friday, January 29, 2010 at 8:30am from the O'NEILL Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road , Cumberland , followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Saint Joseph Church , 1303 Mendon Road , Cumberland . Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery . Visiting hours 8:30-10:30am in the funeral home prior to mass.
