Julio A. “Jay” Paniccia, 85 of Matunuck Beach Road, South Kingstown, formerly of Plainfield Street, Providence died unexpectedly Thursday at home. Jay was the loving husband of Norma S. (James) Paniccia. They were happily married for 56 years. He was a kind and generous man who will be greatly missed.

Born in Providence a son of the late Gabriel & Lillian (Marcello) Paniccia. He was brother of the late Maj. William R. Paniccia and he leaves several nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

Jay was self-employed. He and Norma owned and operated the Atlantic Cleaners on Manton Avenue from 1950-l985. He was dedicated and supportive to the Grand Lodge of R.I. serving as Grand Master for the State of RI as well as the Past Grand Secretary for the State of RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service Tuesday, July 6 th at 11 am in Swan Point Cemetery Chapel, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Visiting Hours will be 9 – 11 am. prior to the Service. Burial with Military Honors will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to VNS Home Health Services of Narragansett, 14 Woodruff Avenue, Narragansett, RI 02882 would be deeply appreciated.
