Motta, Marie A. Motta, 94, formerly of Mount Pleasant and Bonnet Shores, passed away peacefully in Florida with her family on January 10, 2010. Born in Providence, she was the oldest daughter of the late Adolph and Mary (Alterio) Motta.

She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament, Saint Veronica and Assumption Church. Marie was in the first graduating class of Central High. She continued in the evening division taking courses in Bookkeeping, Stenography and Office Practices.

Marie did two additional years of College Accounting and enjoyed any opportunity to take a course relating to the business world she loved so much. Her education served her well as she worked for 27+ years at Speidel Corp. and an additional 30 years at Speidel Division of Textron.

Marie was predeceased by her brothers Dr. Gustavo Motta, Dr. Adolph Motta and her nephew Gustavo Motta, Jr. She will be greatly missed by her sister, Angela Sweeney, her 10 nieces and nephews, her 24 grandnieces and nephews, her 2 great-grand nieces and her many pen-pals. Marie never forgot her family and friends and will be remembered lovingly by all of us.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, January 29, 2010 at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Ave. , Providence . Burial following at St. Ann Cemetery . Visiting 9:00-9:30 am prior to Mass at Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Ave., Providence
