Robert Jarvis, 71, of Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Emerald Bay Manor, Cumberland. Born in Burrillville, he was the son of the late Roy and Marion (Patterson) Jarvis. Mr. Jarvis had lived in Cumberland since 1962.
He was an army veteran.
He was a Technician for the former New England Telephone, now Verizon for 38 years, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of SPRED, and a member of the 2nd RI Regiment Revolutionary War Re-enactors, and a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church.
He is survived by two sons, Brian Jarvis of Bristol, and Marc Jarvis of Cumberland, two daughters, June Leone of East Haven, CT, and Valerie DiPiro of Arizona, and seven grandchildren. He also leaves his companion, Elaine Trudeau of Lincoln.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Friday, 5-8pm.
