Harold V. Carey, 84, of Sleepy Hollow Drive, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 4, 2008 at North Bay Manor, Smithfield. He was the husband of Helen Carey. They were happily married for 61 years. Born in Wakefield, MA, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Doyle) Carey. Mr. Carey was in sales and management in the metals business for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a navy veteran of World War II and Korea. Mr. and Mrs. Carey had lived in Yarmouth, MA before moving to Cumberland in 2003 to be closer to their daughter, Janice, her husband, Kevin Keough, and their granddaughter, Jessica. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, N. Quincy Council, VFW, Yarmouth Post, CYO Drum and Bugle Corp., Dorchester, MA, Coordinator of Drum and Bugle Corp. – Mayflower circuit, Iron Golf League, Cambridge, MA, and past president of the Father's Club, Regis College, Weston, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 10am in Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI, 02860, would be appreciated.
